I just bought 3 chickens, two are plymouth rocks (one with most of it's feathers, other with some more to grow on wings and back) also one cochin (who has all her feathers, it looks like to novice me). We are furiously trying to finish a coop based on the Wichitaw cabin, but it may take another week to finish. I currently have all three in a tupperware container approx 40 in x 20 in. there is a wire top. Is this big enough for them for 1-2 wks. I'm not sure their ages I think the rocks are 4-5 wks. I don't want to screw them up this early in life!
Thanks.

My first 4 were light brahma's who lived in a card board box for about 3 weeks b4 the next set of 15 arrived. So I would think a storage tub would be fine for a week or so...obviously the sooner the better. As long as they have food and water and a warm area and a cooler area they should be fine. Just be very observant about them pecking one another. Crowding leads to pecking because they r bored and crowded! Good luck on ur coop and have fun with the chickies!
