Brooder Temp.

My brooder temp is @ 96 degrees F. Is that too hot for my day old chicks????

Yup, just make sure they can get out of the heat if they get too hot. Otherwise, sounds good. I like to put my food and water a little out of the heat also so they don't get too hot if they are eating and drinking.

If they crowd together under the lamp, it suggests they might be too cold. If they are scattered in a ring outside the lamp, but not under it, check the temp.

They're so cute that little. Just got a batch today of Orpingtons and Black Sex Links. Reminds me, I should check on them.

Oh my gosh... today!!! I wish Wednesday could come quicker!!!
The light is spread out all over the brooder, but directly in the ray it is 96... good luch w/ your babies!!!!
