BROODER thread! Post pics of your brooders!

Hello:

I am in the same boat. I feel I will purchase Premier1 heat plate. From what I have Read the side panels where you snap the plate to as chicks grow break easily on the Brinsea. The Premier1 designi feel will last longer. I will feel safer with a heat plate. Just my opinion

I'm trying to decide between the Ecoglow and Premier plate heaters. Have you tried these? What are your experiences with them?
Try the sweeter heater . I think you'll get more cubic inches per dollar . take a look at it. it has website . here let me get it for you
HTTP://www.sweeterheater.com
Plus this heater can be hung or side mounted or on the floor . you can take your choice.
Best,
Karen

I will absolutely check the sweeter heater out. I've never heard about it -thank you very much for sharing!
logsnchicks - I have heard some very good things about the Premier. And at a cheaper price too!

I just had a plastic bin for the first week. Then I moved them to a small outdoor coop with a small yard during the day and put them back in the plastic bin at night. I'm not using any heat source since they didn't really seem to like it. I also don't use the crumbles because I don't want them eating bentonite clay and soy.

I just recycled some cardboard and made 21 x 25 inch panels and clamped them together with Harbor Freight clamps. I got a free Tarp from Harbor Freight for the bottom. Heat lamp is clamped to an adjustable guitar stand with Satco 175W red heat lamp. Probiotic and Electrolyte packs from Sav-A-Chick for the water container. Food container and Thermometer to keep track of heat. There are additional cardboard panels to add as the chicks get older and additional food and water dishes. Newspaper and shavings will be added onto the tarp. This is a great method for bonding to the chicks because you can remove a panel easily and approach them from the side. Most other brooders, you have to appear as an aerial predator and approach them from above.
