Chick N Farmer- As for using our "Kung Fu" chicken photo........knock yourself out! I couldn't believe we got that photo!

Thanks for reminding me!

Here's my "Command Center"

I have a 100 gallon aquarium with a screen top, next to my hatching bator and my computer (so I can chat with my peeps while I watch the show...and no, we don't have cable!)

LOVE the command center!!!! I would love a set up like that. DH didnt like the smell of the chicks being in the spare room with the gopherbator, so he built me a new brooder out in the garage, but when the ones in the bator hatch they do get to stay inside for a week.
I will get a picture of the new brooder later today.

Here is the brooder I have left, and I'm hoping dh is going to build me another with a few improvements. The floor is wire so little to no clean up and the front is wire also, but in the winter I cover it with plastic at night. Oh, and there is a removable divider in the middle.

Thanks to all you good people on the BYC site here's what I came up with:

HPIM1184.jpg

It is 3'x4' and 3' high 1' off the ground which as it turned out is perfect height for me to sit in my chair and watch them! Both top panels are hinged and can be latched together because on cleaning day to get them all out I was going from side to side to catch them all! The end panel slips out and the bottom tray slides out for easy cleaning!! The tray was my splurge cuz the only things I had to buy were the hinges and screening. The rest was just leftovers from other projects. But the tray has been really nice! I ripped most of the 2x4's just to save on weight.
