Brooder to Coop Advice Needed

Ok....it's bc I read that they don't like the dark....can't see well in it either. So that got me thinking about the solar light in the roost.....bc when I lock them in for the night it will be pitch black....there is no light where the coop/roost/run are situated.

I think, this situation here, is Separation Anxiety. Everyone gets it at some time!

Lol yes I believe you are right! I know the time has come and I have mixed feelings!! I got very attached to my feathered kids. I am new to all this and I just don't want to do anything wrong.

I think they should be perfectly fine! As others have mentioned, if you notice them all huddled together consistently, you may want to bring them back in. Do you have any type of window on the coop that would provide natural light during the day (even if it's raining)? That might be helpful! And welcome to BYC!

Yes there is a window and a sliding door also. They will have plenty of light on cloudy days if they choose to stay in their "room." I just picked up a tarp at Walmart to drape over a part of the coop that is all open.....for those rainy days!

Thank you all for your help, I truly appreciate it!!! I read and read about chickens for months, preparing myself.....but some stuff really is "learn as you go!"
