Brooder to coop help

I had to upgrade to an extra large dog kennel before I moved them out.

I have one of those i am just afraid it’s gonna make a huge mess in my house lol we don’t have much room. They are in the living room. I’ll have to try it

I raised mine from just a few days old to now (5 1/2 weeks) in the coop right from the get-go. It was down below 20 a few nights, but I just kept a couple heat lamps in there and paid close attention to the chicks. They did just fine. I think if you get the coop warmed up with heat lamps, and then transfer them, they would be fine? I'm no expert by any means. This is my first flock of chickens ever...Just my two cents....

Good luck!!

How many chicks do you have?
What are you using for a heat source, are they still using it?
You should be able to have them off of all heat by 4 weeks. If your using a heat lamp, turn it off during the day and see how they react, they should be fine. Since there in your house, they probably will be fine at night also without heat. This will help get them acclimated to lower temps. Then you could probably move them to your coop at 4 weeks and put a huddle box in there for them, in case they want to use it.

How big is your coop, can you put the dog crate in there, if you need it to integrate? I've never integrated chicks with one chicken, so I don't know how many issues you will have.

I raise my chicks in my coop brooder, so they get acclimated to cooler temps at an early age. They were off all heat at 4 weeks. My lows were in the upper 30's and highs were in the upper 50's. I use the mama heat pad for my heat source.

I was planning on moving our 9 chicks out to the coop at 4 weeks (with a heat lamp). We have them in a large rubbermaid but they are running out of room. I take them out to the run during the day when it is warm and they seem to do fine. I will keep the heat lamp out there for a few weeks and then remove it once they are 6-7 weeks old.

I have 6 chicks 1 of which is for sure a rooster. I am using a heat lamp 24/7 still. The coop is pretty large. We are planning on using the kennel in it to integrate for sure. Our one hen has been alone since last summer. I just want to make sure it’s warm enough for them and that our hen doesn’t try to attack them since she is still bigger. Not for long though she is an Easter Egger bantam.

I'd say it really depends on your set up (since you mentioned having an adult bird). If there's adequate space to give the chicks a safe area inside the coop, little to no drafts, and electricity available to provide heat, then maybe you can safely move them out into the coop sooner rather than later.
