I am starting to build a brooder with a digital thermostat and 100 watt heating element and 110 volt fan for circulation. Has anyone built one like this with out the hanging heat lamp. I did have one with a heat lamp and wanted to get away from constantly checking and having to re- adjust it daily. Also want to add a few small red bulbs for light ,but get away from that super bright light of the heat lamp. will use 3/4 Melamine like I did for my incubator, seems to hold Temps very good. need it large enough for (100) chicks.
