not the worry, i designed the brooder to be light weight, and easily movable, so i can use it later, pics will show this...
 
Welcome to BYC, Sounds like most of your questions are answered so far so I will just say best of luck with your new chicks.

You may also want to give the chicks some grit with their food to, just mix some in with the food your giving them. Them amount is on the grit bag I believe just add it directly into the food bag or bin you have the extra food in and mix it around.

Hope so cause here goes...
I got a decent brooder box my dad built 4'x2'. I have a 250W red light on one end. I've noticed that all my birds are staying at the opposite end but then sometimes sleeping on the end with the light. Can I have a small fan set on low pointed at the hotter end to spread the heat around and maybe even out the temp a bit? My thoughts were that the air moving might actually be a good thing...but Imma newb.

Depending on breed, they can sometimes fly at 2-3 weeks. I'll tell you how I do it--but you'll find lots of different methods including some who brood outside with great success. I raise heritage breeds of chickens, turkeys, and ducks. I also raise CX meat birds. I use different feed for each of the groups. For heritage chickens I feed a 24% starter for the first three weeks and give them a few meal dried worms as treats daily. For one day olds, I'll mix a little feed sand and baby grit on a paper towel for them to get the idea, after that they get baby grit free choice. I built my brooder out of the plastic that signs are made from with a wood frame and with a wire top. And I use the deep litter method with pine shavings. I wean them off heat quickly (I use a sweeter heater) and I feed them electrolytes in their nipple waterers. At three weeks they move into a portable shelter on grass and move every few days. When they move outside, I'll give them a 50/50 mix of starter and grower for the first week, then move them to grower until they move on to an all flock or layer. Again welcome.
 
Yea I get that if they were staying away constantly but they sometimes are sleeping on the side with the light. The light is clamped on the side 2.5ft up and the angle is shallow as to not give too much direct heat. I was watching them last night I think the fan did the trick. That was my main question. I wasn't sure if moving air was good or bad for them.
