Okay...I bit the bullet and ordered my first chicks from MyPetChicken. I have one of these that came with some guinea pigs I rescued...and I am planning to use it as a brooder. I was contemplating putting coroplast or cardboard around the sides to enclose is a little more to cut down on drafts and help hold heat better. Think it'll work?
Congrats on the chicks! I think with some cardboard to help with drafts that will work just fine. How many chicks are you getting? You may have to upgrade them to something a bit bigger before they go outside.
Yeah...I'm thinking it won't be long before they outgrow that because I really jumped in with both feet and ordered one of MyPetChicken's All-Female 25-Packs. It was such a great deal with no shipping! I plan to rehome most of them when they are old enough to go outside without heat...just keeping the ones I really like in my new flock
