How long do I keep the chicks in the brooder? 5 weeks? 6 weeks? 7 weeks? 8 weeks?

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Chicks should be kept in a brooder either until they are fully feathered or the night time temperature lows are equivalent to the current brooder temperature setting. Usually mine are kept in the brooder 5-6 weeks before their removal in late spring. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.

Lol haha! Not new have been here for 4 months. Well can anyone else tell me how they raised their chicks?

I just assumed that you were new since you posted this in the New Member Introductions. :o) I'm sure other new members can answer your question as well, but you might also want to post this question in our Raising Baby Chicks section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/11/raising-baby-chicks, and take advantage of our experts there.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Michael X2 5 to 6 weeks is a good amount of time. Gives them a chance to grow in a nice coat of feathers. Definitely stop by the thread he has included on Raising Baby Chicks.

Enjoy all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!
