Broodies on eggs? Broodies with babies? Post here.

This is my first broody! She's on Day 4
I have a temperature probe underneath here, she's reading 101.2 pretty regularly!

They are pretty fuzzy and dry...how long does it take for the rest? Is it an all day process?

Well, my broody silkie has 4 chicks now, and 3 more to hatch!
Aren't they adorable. It's funny when I pick her up so I can clean the nest and she can eat, chicks fall out from under her wings that she has tucked up.

I separated daddy from mommy per most of BYC's advice. I was going to ask when I could put him back in or can I? He is pretty, I have two of them, black Cochin roosters that is. Boy are they foot stompers!! Must be those feathered feet huh?
The silkie babies are ADORABLE! WOW...makes me tempted to get some!
Good luck on the broody girl bodyflight!

I had to go out have a talk w/my (nearly) 4 week old Buff Cochins. I explained to them what their purpose in life is...to hatch more chicks! ....I think they understood but we'll know a year from now.

Until then I'll be collecting good ideas for broody houses like the one above.

Pretty mama, but I gotta tell you that baby pic is just too cute!!
How adorable. I'm smitten with mine but looking at everyone else's is like "wow" (my first chicken babies ever, pheasants are completely different!) Some how "it's a wonderful world" song keeps popping into my head whenever I look at all these babies!
