Wow - I haven't checked back here in a while and I missed alot!!! Great pics, congrats on the new babies, and good luck to everyone! I thought mine were supposed to hatch this weekend but my broody jumped off to grab a snack at dinner last night. I thought they didn't get off the nest at all the last 3 days? I was kind of watching that as a clue for when they would start

Catalina, when we got our original chicks they were vaccinated. I've been hatching babies since last summer, have never vaccinated any and they've all been fine.

Lavender looks so comfy in her nest!!!

I am completely clueless on the vaccination. What would I be vaccinating against? Where would I get it? And can I skip it?

Update: I "think" today is day 21

and when I went out to feed, broody jumped off the nest again. Eggs are still warm but there's a TON of them. I didn't hear any peeping so I'm thinking there's not much hope. Broodies don't get off the nest after day 18, do they?

The worst part, for the chick, was that when he/she gave a final push out of the shell she rolled down an incline the hen had created up to the nest. It's on the video I made. I finally helped the little one back to the hen and she crawled right under, happily!
