Broodiness Cycle

My silkies were on a 30 day cycle. They brood for 30 day and they lay for 30 days then go back to brooding. I don't have a rooster so there is no reason to let them brood. So to break up the cycle I started putting them out is the yard during the day. After about a week they stop brooding I guess because they longer have 24 hours a day in brood so its breaks up their cycle.
