My hen has been sitting for 5 days and today I'm getting her fertile eggs for her to sit on, is there a way to trade out the infertile eggs for the fertile eggs without her freaking out or getting stressed??

I would just do it as quick as possible and them walk away. Just slip out the bad eggs and quickly put in the good ones. She will hiss at you, but them just leave. That way, she isn't stressed for as long. Lets see what some others think.

You can just reach under her and switch eggs. She may get a bit angry at you, but she wont' know the difference after it is all over.

Great to have you aboard and enjoy BYC!

I would trade her eggs at night, but I've done it during the day. I don't know where you're keeping her (I keep my broodies in a cardboard box in the mud room) and I make sure she will stay there first (I wait a half hour after moving them) then I give her some eggs.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X4, just switch them out, most broodies will hiss or peck but really won't care. If she one of those who is really spooky and panics whenever you come near, do it at night if possible, or wait until she leaves the nest to eat and drink etc and trade them then.
