Broodiness question about Ameraucanas

Interesting stuff!! Do the bantams tend to be more broody than the standards (mine are standard)? And do you just keep taking their eggs away until they "get over it"? I guess I can't keep letting them hatch chicks, LOL! And my black Ameraucana looks so BIG and funny with her lone blue Silkie chick!

We added a stacked 5x5 metal nesting box. I don't like it because its not chick friendly. It is a poor design to boot. If you buy one ensure you buy lock washers or Locktite for all screws because the birds will eventually knock everything loose and that sucks when its covered in chicken shit. It honestly depends on what you want your chickens for. If its just collecting eggs it ok. If you want broody hens and clutches then look elsewhere because she will constantly be disturbed by other hens laying on her and they'll also break her eggs. Hens that are broody but wanna lay for whatever reason feel obligated to lay in a broody hens box even if there are nine other boxes open. Im gonna take it out eventually - big mistake. I believe the solution is to create a area specifically for breeding, or set up independent cages for broody hens, and when the become broody transfer them very early in there broody state so they can become comfortable in their isolation.
