I have an order with Ideal that shold be here this week for 12 chicks.
I put this small brooder box together out of some scraps that a renter left when they moved out. The box is 2x2x4 so it wont last very long. I figure it may last 2 weeks.
I brought it into the back porch and am doing a trial run with the heat light. As it sits, it has stayed between 94-95 degrees.
I also have a sheet of heavy cloth material that I am going to put over the shavings for the first few days.
I'll update this post with pics of the chicks when they arrive.
