Is it allowable to keep chicks of different species together in a brooder. This is my first year of having different species of birds. I have red goldens, silvers, amhersts, and melanistic ringnecks. The first batch is all due to hatch around the same time?

I am no expert by any means, but I do have pheasants and will tell you my personal opinion. I would think you should have no out of the ordinary problems if you are brooding all of your pheasant chicks together. One mistake I recently made was putting some newly hatched pheasant chicks with day old turkey poults. Besides risk of illness, I think the size difference was way too much, the turkey's could easily stomp the pheasants, even though it's not on purpose - they all got along well. So now, I'm keeping only pheasants in the same brooder. Live and learn, I get a lot of very useful information from this BYC, and a lot is just trial and error.
