brooding hen lost feathers on belly, why?

One of my hens has began sitting on eggs about 5 days ago. Everyday I remove any eggs. She has broke 2 eggs over those 5 days. Today I noticed she does not have feathers on her belly. What can I do in this cold weather?

They pull their own feathers, typically. It helps with skin to egg contact.

Don't worry about her, she'll be fine. The broody girls will pull their feathers out to increase the skin to egg contact. If you put your hand under her, you'll see how warm she really is.
