I have a Black/Lavender Orpington hen 9 months old who is laying on the nestbox all day...cannot seem to keep her off. Even when the others go out to free range she will stay for hours. The other hens (5 of them) are pecking at her and picking on her. Her comb also seems to have lost some color compared to the others. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Well if your sure that she is broody then you should move her, only if your going to give her chicks though. If you want break her broodiness then you could keep on getting her off the nest box, or sometimes isolate her from the others and don't give her anything to sit on. Here is a link that should help you out Encouraging or Discouraging Broodiness

She's definitely broody. Either give her fertile eggs to sit on, or break her. The link you were given above should help.
