I have a tiny frizzle hen that continues to be broody..we have no eggs and im not looking for her to hatch any, should I break her of it? How? Ive tried putting her outside the coop and shutting the door and letting them in at night only to find her in the same bucket being broody! I saw you can give her a cool dunking but I do not want to do that in the winter..im really worried about her and I also think she is molting badly! Help thanks :)

Dip her in water, and take out the straw.Block the nest off.

I dont thinj shes molting, could I see her bald spot?

Tried and true method is in a wire bottom cage suspended. The idea is that cool air has to reach the underbody.

The sooner the better. If they just went broody it only takes a day or two. If longer, it takes longer.

I wouldn't dip in water this time of year since you'll need to completely dry her off before she goes back outside which will negate the effect.

Cool water lasts minutes to hours. A wire bottom cage lasts until you take her out.
