broody and laying at the same time

I have a hen that has been clucking for 2 weeks, everytime I find her on the nest I suspect she has gone to setting, but she is laying nearly on a daily basis. Anyone else seen this?

Yes, I've seen that. The hen went on like that for a couple of weeks, then quit her clucking and fluffing up. She laid throughout that time and did not spend any nights or much time during the day in the nest. Just hung out with her buddies fluffed up and clucking and slept on the roost.

A couple of months later she went broody for real. I don't know if that was just coincidence or what?

I suspect she will eventually get there.
