I have a friend who is going to drop off an incubator, (hand turning kind) and I have a broody Ayam cemani hen. The eggs will go in incubator tomorrow. The Ayam cermani hen will get some of the eggs to hatch too. The man dropping off eggs may want me to hatch for him too!

The eggs I bought from a farm, BCM eggs, one light tan wyandotte egg, and 2 green legbar/isbar mix eggs.

What breed cocks were with each of the disparate breeds of hens?
If the offspring will be pure, I would put different breeds in the incubator than what you put under the hen to make them easier to identify when they hatch.

I am not trying to sell or breed- but I do know they have pure BCM roosters and hens, and some other breeds that are breed with the BCM roosters. He did get the BCM from England some where.

I will know who is who though.

My Friend dropped off the incubator. It was in terrible shape! I cleaned it as best I could but it smelled electrical when plugged in. I have a diff home made incubator. I will start the eggs in that, then move the eggs to the hen on Sun.
Here are the eggs in incubator...one more dark egg had a crack and was removed. I did add another Wyandotte tan egg- I was not going to set it because it was porous. But I thought I would any way. The hen will not get the porous egg. I will keep it in incubator.

Hen has 11 eggs I kept the tan eggs and the green egg to the right in incubator, so hen will not have such a big job. My friend will drop off 6 eggs in a few days, they will go into incubator, and eventually after the nest batch hatches, the incubator eggs will move under hen again. She loves it!

the 2 tan wyandotte eggs and one BCM was empty. I removed them, I am not giving up on the other BCM egg yet it is so dark...The green blue Isbar eggs are going strong, and the other BCM eggs under the hen are fine. day 4.

here are the eggs again- I pulled 3 right before giving to a hen because they were clear. Now day 15 I went to check them ...

4 looked how I would expect, the others had a saddle shape but I still saw veins so I let her keep them. I expected 11 and she only had 10 unless she was hiding one. One of the green eggs had a bad crack at the tip. (looked like a dent) some leakage. The development look okay though. I took the egg and put it in a plastic bag that was open at the air cell side and put the leaking pointy end in the bag, with the leaky side up so it would not leak more. Then put it in incubator by itself, with a nice water dish.

I cannot just nail polish this, hopefully it will be okay.

day 17 I went to check hen's nest, and one brown egg also had a dent, nothing spilling out, the dent was by the air cell, i put the egg with the green egg in incubator, green egg is out of the bag, the dent with ooze on green egg, sealed it's self. both eggs still have veins. the 2 dented eggs are in my incubator, the other 8 are with the hen.

Day 19 and the green egg is gone, the brown egg with small dent, smelled fine, and still had veins, so I put it back with mom hen that has 9 total. since tomorrow is day 20 and all eggs will be hatching, hopefully. I did see them in the air cells on day 19.
