Broody Barred Rock?

My barred rock is now broody! We just moved her to a maternity station. It's like a rabbit hutch but I put lots of hay on the floor. Do you think this will keep her from getting cooled off? (And breaking the broodiness)

I have 20 barred rocks but I have this one we call Ruthie.. She goes bloody twice a year.. she will sit in about 6 eggs. When the first one hatches. She is up and put the co-op she is 3 now and every year she hatches 1 egg. And that's it she will take care of the baby and guard it with her life there happy and healthy and a part of the flock. But out of 20 barred rocks I have 1.. that goes bloody and sits.

I have 5 barred rock hens in my flock (which includes a rooster who takes his responsibilities seriously), and I think one of my girls has gone broody. We bought her as a chick last June, so she is about a year old now. I've not yet encountered a broody hen. But, when I opened the nesting box lid to collect the eggs a few days ago, she let out some noises the likes of which I've never heard before and startled me. When I put my hand near her to attempt to see if there were eggs under her, she hissed at me and tried to peck me (which this former sweetheart had never done). I left her with her eggs and have been watching her closely for 3 days, and she's only leaving the box about once a day to eat or drink, and then heads right back to her same box. Won't join the others on the roosts at night. This means she's gone broody and we might have babies in about 3 weeks, right?! Super exciting :)
