I have a broody black Sumatran, and she is definitely out of sorts. I don’t have any roosters, and hope she won’t stay broody for too long. I have two silver-laced Wyandottes, one white leghorn, and two Rhode Island reds which she protects the eggs and warms them. She gets very upset if I take all the eggs. I have to take her to eat or she’ll stay there all day. Would it help to somehow get some fertilized eggs for her to hatch? She does happen to be from a breed that is critical in terms of how many in the USA. If so, does anyone have fertilized black Sumatran eggs they wish to sell?

If you want chicks, go for it. Get the fertilized eggs.

Are you looking for specifically Black Sumatra eggs? Not sure if you know, but a broody can raise any breed of chicken, regardless of what breed she is

I do not have Black Sumatra eggs, however I have barnyard mix eggs available proven over 95% fertility over the years in my experience.

I am not able to ship.
What state are you in?

I’m in Texas, and the nearest Black Sumatran farm I found so farm is in Wisconsin. They currently have nothing available. I was hoping for black Sumatran.

Alright. I'm across the country (MA), so I couldn't supply you with any.

Good luck

Maybe try posting it in your state thread too.
