This is my first time with a broody what do I need to do to make sure she sets on them and doesn't abandon them?

It's a natural instinct so there's not much you'll have to do. Are the eggs fertile? Not all first time broody hens stick through out the hatch. Since it is her first time it might not go perfectly but I wish you a great hatch

Well she just decided to completely abandon them. I am actually ok with this because I just hatched some in an incubator and my mom does not really want any more chickens right now.

I should also mention that I just gave her the eggs right before I originally posted so the eggs didn't have any chance to develop. That is why they are not going in to an incubator.
