Broody Breaker - ASAP!

Hey y’all! I have a silkie that needs breaking asap. She’s beginning to lose weight. She had a clutch of 5 eggs but upon candling I found none to be developing. (Rooster is 7 months and maybe not quite getting the job done efficiently yet). She’s been sitting approx 2 weeks now she I know it won’t be an easy break. I take her out of the nest multiple times through the day. I’ve blocked off her nesting box so she makes a new nest. Today I’ve shut down the coop but I suspect she’ll just nest elsewhere. I’ve even tried dipping her underside but she just shakes it off and moves on. Determined little fluff. I’ve recently heard of a broody breaker. Wire bottomed dog crate suspended a few inches for air flow. Has anyone done this and had success with a silkie specifically? I know they can be harder to break. Do I leave the crate outside by the coop and other chickens? Isolate her inside the house or garage? I need some more specific details. Buying a crate today. Thanks y’all!

Yes, wire crate.

Location, anywhere convenient for you and safe for her. So not in direct sun or rain, and not where predators can get her. Coop is fine, garage is fine, house is fine.

If you're buying a crate, a wire "rabbit cage" would work just as well as a "dog crate." So you can get either one, depending on what's available.

I'm having same issue,she's been at it for a month now!,normally I just keep getting them out to feed and they usually come out of it after a couple of weeks.think she might need a dip,not tried it before!does it have to be ice cold?

Be prepared to leave her in there for a while. They are tough to break but the wire dog crate is the only thing that has worked for me. You know they do this just to drive us crazy. Lol.
