Well I was watching one of my hens today and she was making a nest and rolling around the golf ball then laying on it. So I put the 3 duck eggs I collected today under her. Shes now in the process of laying another egg and trying to spread out over the eggs.

beg your pardon, so what's the problem?

she is laying another egg, so why did you write "broody BSL" on the title of the post?

i don't think hen can lay and broody at the same time. yes, she *can* broody when she lay an egg (since she sit on the available egg) and even if the time when she sit on nestbox and lay an egg take long time, that's not going more than 3 hours broody per day, and no chick will hatch.

never said it was a problem sheesh. I was happy about it considering how broody BSL's arent. But to my dismay shes not....she got up and left the eggs. even went and laid her egg somewhere else. Maybe she is just practicing.
