OK my hen is brooding but she has no eggs (they all roll back through a slot) and we have no roo. We talked to the man we bought the chickens from and he gave us some fertilized eggs for her to sit on. So we got a rabbit cage ready and put the eggs in there and then we put her in there. Well this did not go over so well. She was to stressed to even go into the box. So we put her back in to where she had been originally sitting and we put the eggs in there too. She went in the box and then she came out and moved to a different box. We are not sure what to do. We want to try to slip the eggs under her while she sleeps through the back. Please post a reply if you have any suggestions

I would try that--putting them underneath her after she gets that nighttime coma going. But if she doesnt like the eggs under her--you may notice that she moves in the morning again---if you want to incubate the eggs that are fertilized to be sure they make it, you can always test her with some unfertilized egg, that way, if anything happens, you still can get some chicks!
