Broody button quail?

Welcome yea she is just way to cute and the broodyness just make it even more cuteness..lol

reason i ask is because my quail cages it's 2 in 1 and i have i think maybe 20 or close to it in there..lol so i know i wont get a broody hen with all the other quails around her and if she did go broody it wouldn't last with all the others bothering her.. because right now all the adults are in the nest box together and the 4 teenagers are on the other side together in the corner sleeping..lol

I've heard of lots of breeders letting the quail brood their own eggs. the difference though is that they usually have large pens like outdoor aviaries with tons of hiding places and objects on the ground for them to run around and hide in. Not the couple square foot or less cages most people keep quail in.

I wonder if they are hatched by a hen (chicken that is) would the young brood their eggs then?

I hope mine goes broody for me sometime. I will have to try leaving some eggs in there a few days. For now have been taking them out daily and incubating them. I have noticed the male likes to hide in the little wooden box in the corner so I am hoping one of the 2 females will discover it is a great place to lay eggs and go broody there.

(blue faced females don't have actual blue on them but if she is a blue faced hen if she was a male she'd have gorgeous blue head and breast).

Yes I believe she might be, because I have 2 blue faced males. I have alway's called them Blue Breasted though, lol. Not sure if that is right or not.

nope it's "blue faced' hehe

a "blue breasted" is the wild colored male but most just call those "wild colored" because blue breasted can get confused with blue face hehe
