Broody Call Duck !!!! New pics of Millie on her nest!so cute!

I am in Illinois, 20 miles south of Joliet, if that helps you any. "Near" is kind of a relative term, I'm supposing. Depends how far you consider "near" to be to get what you are looking for.

Yeah I'm in Southeast Missouri, about 6 hours from Indianapolis if that is near enough for you then I should have some Calls for sell soon

I am interested in getting call ducks this spring but dont know too much about them so i thought i would ask a call duck owner for some information. How do i go about getting some and how do they compare to normal ducks in terms of care?

Keep in mind that calls do fly unless you clip a wing. I only clip a wing one time, just so they get acclimated to the new location. Actually, the last 2 I got didn't get clipped cause they hung out with others that had been around awhile. I keep mine in a "fortress" so that absolutely nothing can get in and kill them, but I'd do that with any poultry- we have mean raccoons here. They get let out when I'm home to supervise, which they really enjoy. Calls are joyous little ducks- and sassy. I just love 'em! I have traveled hours to buy a trio from another byc'er, have bought at swap meets and have gotten one in the mail from another byc'er. All have worked out very well. Good luck - once you get some, you'll be hooked!
