kinda cute.....but kinda aggravating!! has anyone else had THIS problem???

I don't have that problem....but I did have a cat that thought it was her job to guard the DUCKS....slept outside next to their enclosure for a week after we released them to the pond out back.....Cat's are funny little people in fur coats....I'm sure your cat is protecting your chickens....as well as getting a good night sleep.

hey! chicken protection at night!! that is a great idea! i close the girls up every night....maybe i should close the cat up with them? well....actually, no...then he would start using their coop as a bathroom!

never mind......

did it disturb your hens at all? my BO loves the nest that the cat chose, but Winifred is currently moulting....but i wonder if she'll get ticked when she goes back to laying eggs?

The box she would lay in is one of the boxes the hens use too. I just asumed it was first come first serve. LoL!! I'm not sure if it bothered anyone. The hens layed in 2 other boxes also so i'm not sure.

That's so funny that your cat sleeps in there; makes sense I guess. It's dark and probably warm. My cat is in the coop all the time but he doesn't sleep in there. He really seems to enjoy the chickens.

On an aside, we also had a Parrotlet that must have escaped from a nearby home. He would come around almost daily and just sit on the fence and talk to the chickens. I haven't seen it for a few months so I hope the wee bird is making a life for itself somewhere.
