Broody chicken but not ready for chicks yet

when I went to collect eggs yesterday evening I put on my jacket and gloves and took her off the nest and out in the yard
she did not fuss as much as I thought she would LOL. She did return to the nest of course. I think after I feed them this morning
I will close the coop and make her free range with the rest. Keeping an eye on her. When that does not work I will go buy a cage
the poor girl

last night when I was sitting on the porch Red peeked at my toes
I think maybe I should rethink my bright green toe nail polish

You can try water for breaking your broody too. My dad said his grandma used to spray her broody hens with the hose. I put one of mine in the ducks' kiddie pool and she stood there dazed for a couple seconds and then started squawking indignantly and jumped out. It cools off their front and might snap them out of it.
