My hen, Vivian, has been broody for 2 weeks, but this morning we found her on her perch, and she had pooped all over the top of the nesting boxes (on the side of the coop opposite her nest w her clutch). She obviously got an upset stomach from something, and now she doesn't seem to want to sit on the eggs. What should we do? how long should we wait to see if she wants to go back?

They felt cool to the touch, maybe 60-70 degrees, my bf said they seemed warmer than that... but i dk we never took the temp. We put them in am emergency incubator but then she seemed upset, so we put them back, but she hasnt gone back on them... How low can the egg temp go and for how long before they die?

Please help? What can we do for her

Thanks

Do you have any nest eggs (fake eggs) to leave in her nest until she decides to come back? (golf balls, oval rocks) Leave the real eggs in the incubator until she is feeling better and setting again... than you can give them back to her. Good luck... hope she's feeling better soon.
