If a broody chicken sits in eggs sporadically (occasionally or at irregular intervals) during the day. Do the eggs will still hatch? My broody hen has been sitting on 10 eggs. Only 3 of them hatched a week ago. Is that the reason why she isn’t sitting in the nest 24/7?
When you collect a clutch of eggs over a period of days and then the hen sits do they will hatch at the same time? Thank you very much

If all eggs are in the nest when the hen starts setting, they will hatch at the same time. Hens are biologically programmed to leave the nest within 24 - 36 hours after the first chick hatches so that chicks can access food and water. This is why staggered hatches are a bad idea.
