Charlotte, my broody Welsh Harlequin duck is sitting on 11-12 duck eggs and one chicken egg(I'll get to that later). She is approximately on day 5. Each day she has been getting more broody. She is in a pair relationship with her husband Oliver, a male welsh harlequin. He seems very gentle for a WH male. He sits with her during the day. Today I wanted to do my finale test to see if shes broody, I gave her a chicken egg. Well 5 minutes later she put it under her. So my finale conclusion is that she is broody. She stays on her nest all day, she has a dozen of eggs and has very big poops. I'm happy to be getting some ducklings hopefully. Now here's the problem: I need to remove that chicken egg. I'm planning on doing it tomorrow morning while she eats. Any tips on how to care for broody ducks?
