Hi! This is one of my biggest questions I keep asking myself what should I feed her? When she wasn’t broody I fed her chicken laying crumbles, but is there a duck feed? Do I feed her baby chicken food for more protein?

Anything would really help me!

I am on my 22 day I think of my duck mama sitting in her babies and I stuck some chicken eggs under her too the same day she had those eggs under her. Anyway she has three chicken eggs and two duck eggs. Will she leave her duck eggs if the chickens hatch before the ducks?

I'd feed the chick feed or if you could find some all flock feed. The chicken eggs should hatch around day 21 the ducks day 28. So you can make a choice of letting her raise the chicks or taking those away when they hatch and letting her hatch the ducklings. I'd let her do the ducks because of the fact that ducks swim and love water and chicks drown in water....

Ok thanks! Yeah that’s what I will probably do.

Here is her nest.
Her name is Graham Quacker

Today is hatching day for the chickens!!!! :celebrate

Soooo sooo excited I will be moving her babies (her chickens) into a tote with a heat lamp and I’ll still let her hatch her duck babies that way she can still hatch them and not leave the nest to take care of the chickens. :woot:yesss::thumbsupSo so excited!

I know right!?!

They are in there right now peeping their cute little peeps and the mommy is quacking at them. And it’s so wonderful!

Can I not watch them hatch? Or will the mommy not sit on the other eggs ( the duckies)? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Watching is fine as long as you don’t get in the way of the momma. I’m just saying that a watched pot never boils. :lau
