I have a duck that has been collecting eggs for about 10 days. She is finally sitting on them, and I am thrilled!!! However, she's in my garden (which I'm needing to plant soon. If I move her eggs to the other pen, which is connected to the garden, will she sit on them or am I stuck waiting for them to hatch? I realize that I could incubate them, but it would be so much less trouble to let her hatch them-especially since there are 22 eggs! Does anyone have any experience with moving duck eggs?!

We are in the same situation!

I have an East Indie nesting in my garden currently, moving broody ducks can be a real challenge, in most cases they will either abandon the nest once moved or just return to where they originally started building their nest, of course, you can try, I'd do it at night when its dark.

For my duck, since nesting in the garden isn't really a safe spot, I built her a small secure coop for her, think it was around 2x3 ft, doesn't need to be too big just enough for her to hatch some babies in.

I hadn't thought about doing it at night! I read somewhere to move it just a few feet per day until it's where you want it! I guess I'll try and put it onto a tarp or sheet so I can scoot it...
