I have a Broody Blue Favacauna that I am thinking about putting new chicks under her to raise. I have 2 Silkie Hens that are not broody, but I know they would be such good mamas.
I guess my question would be, if hens aren’t broody, do they accept raising new chicks or not?
I have always raised my own chicks, so this is uncharted territory.

Most the time... NO way!

Honestly... my large fowl hens brood circles around my Silkies. In my opinion.. Silkies aren't the best broody's, they're just excessively broody. Big difference. ;)

I always do my chick (under 6 days old) tucking early in the evening after dark so the adoptive mom can feel them moving and hear their voices, clucking back to them so they learn her voice.

Good luck! :jumpy:jumpy

Thanks so much for the input! Dorthy (BF) is my only full size hen. For some reason this last time around I thought bantams would be fun:confused: I cannot catch any, except the Silkies. Ready to have big girls back.
