broody hatch ... any one wanna join?

I have a buff orpington sitting on 8 eggs. When they hatch (hoping they hatch) will it hurt the hen to eat medicated starter feed?

I had a RIW go broody but I put her in a coop with some non laying pullets for a week and when I put her back in with the rest of the flock she wasn't broody anymore, but I have so many chicks right now I'm running out of space.

I have a broody blue silkie sitting on 8 eggs should be due around christmas. I am soooooo excited I have never had a broody hen before or incubated eggs. always bought day old chicks. I think I might become an addict if she stays broody. I only worru about the chicks hatching in cold weather. I live in Maine though its mild so far this year, that could change at anytime.

She officially quit on day 21

I took them away...want her to start layign her own eggs again. Oh and every one of the 8 eggs I rescued from whatever she was doing with them are alive and kicking!!!!

I have no incubator :-(

But I do have another hen that has gone broody. Maybe the second time is a charm. Too bad she waited too long or I would have given her the 1st ones eggs. I do think they were too far gone/ cold though.
