I have 2 hens sitting on eggs, I had 11 under the two of them, and all but 3 have hatched, they now seem more interested in the new chicks than they do sitting on the remaining eggs. 2 of the 3 have pips in them. I just went out to check on them and found one of the eggs, which is one that is pipped and I can hear chirping in sitting in the middle of the pen and no one sitting on it. I tucked it under one of the moms and left it. Do I need to worry about the "humidity" dropping from it not being sat on and it not being able to get out because the membrane has dried? What should I do?

Do you know how long it has been pipped? I would keep checking on it. Most of the time the mamas know what they are doing, but then again they ARE chickens.

It has been pipped most of the day. I just checked on it and it hasn't progressed much, though it is still pipping. What do you think?
