Broody Hen - 21 Days and nothing yet?

Day 22, still nothing

End Day 22, 1 chick has hatched. Not looking too promising on the rest. At least it wasn't a complete failure.

Congratulations!!
I wait for momma to leave the eggs before I take them. They may just be a little later or momma didn’t fully start sitting on the eggs for long periods of time at first.

Thanks for your response. Day 23 this morning. 2 have hatched. Seems odd to me, but I guess this must be how it goes with a broody hen.

My first broody hen hatch had chicks start hatching on day 22 and then it was a chick hatching every 12 hours-ish. Because of this, I didn’t count the days for the next broody hatch. I got so antsy and excited with the first one and really worried but everything turned out just fine, I was close to camping out outside the coop just to hear the chirps.
I’m glad there are now two chicks!

They are so cute! I wish I could experience a broody hatch at least once in my lifetime!
