HI. I'm excited to have found this thread! I posted earlier in another thread but here goes.... I have a White Cochin who went broody. I called a friend who luckily had the eggs of English Orpingtons ( Isabel Cukoo) which I had been waiting. I got 7 of them and my Nixi girl happily took them in. It has been 3 solid days so I decided to cancel them. The video is of that candling this morning. Looking for experienced guesses as to how many are viable. Also, when should I candle them again? I was planing on day 7.

It won't show the video, but it is difficult to be sure and see clear veining until day 7. If there are any that you are unsure about, candle them again on day 14. Good luck with your hatch.

If the eggs are light brown, I am usually able to see signs of development on day four. My Orpington layed dark eggs, so I was not able to see clear delvelopment until about day 6. I would candle them again on day 7 and 10 so you can remove any that are non-viable/have died.
