Not sure if I am putting this in the right section but here it goes..
Ok, so can anyone give me tips about expecting chicks from a broody hen?
I got a feather up my butt and decided that I would let my little broody hen sit on some eggs, thinking that they most likely wouldn’t hatch and she would stop being broody
. Another chicken raiser I met said she does this and the hen gives up in a week or so. "However, her eggs are not fertilized like mine. *Slap myself*
Dumb me
; I don’t have that kind of luck. So I candled and they are doing well and she is such a proud little fluffy butt of a mother.
My question I guess would be how do you treat a broody hen and her chicks? Is it close to the same setup as a brooder? Do you feed the hen starter feed as well as the chicks?
Any tips would be welcomed because I think I got in over my head.
But on the bright side my little fluffy butt is such a happy little mom and they haven't even hatched yet
