Without emotion, it wouldn't be an argument. It would be a civilized discussion, a meeting of minds. I don't want to change my friend's way of thinking, doing, or being. I just want her to understand where I am coming from. I don't understand why that enrages her.

There are a lot of people who feel that they are right and don't have room in their worldview for other ways. They don't understand that there are often multiple "right" ways to do things.

There are hard lines where there is no agreement. Some people have narrower lines than others.

That's why I'm very careful about poison. There are some cats that come wandering into my greenhouse and property that I know catch and eat mice, so I definitely don't want to use poison.

Snap traps work great in the greenhouse, but the cats do steal the traps sometimes. I may set some quail feed and some snap traps in the crawl space under my house and see about fixing the one broken wire cover that is where I think they're getting access.

Yeah, a lot of peeps are against the use of poison, and I understand their concerns and reasons. I don't use poison that often but the last couple of years I've had an infiltration/invasion of Norway rats in my pens....Just One Bite works just like the name says, took care of my rat problem in 4 days, went from hundreds to zero. I did loose two birds because they pecked at the dead or dying rat....it killed them too! so you have to get the dead ones out before they can be pecked at, and you need to wear gloves while handling the bait as well as the dead rats, you can become poisoned just by contact.

My exterminator said he had a product that would kill the rodents ONLY, and not the cats or chickens that might eat their bodies. Call Orkin!

Shadowing a senior staff member is one thing, doing it to me is very different. I'm still learning how to work effectively in a very high stress environment. I know you're trying to and need to learn but I'm not what you need to do that, so please just leave me alone...

I mean, I dont think I'm responsible for training anyone when I'm still very much learning myself? I feel for them understanding what it's like to be "at the bottom" but I also have a lot of social issues and having someone I'm not comfortable with following me around, analysing what I'm doing and asking questions is too much for me often.
There's other stuff too, the other staff hate it too I think a good chunk of the issue is the person...

I thought when I told a friend about some things I was doing that worked well for me, she would be interested in hearing about it. (As I would were the situation reversed.) Instead, she felt that I "was trying to push 'my way' on her." So we don't talk about things like:
Taking care of your own health
Having a fence around the garden
Having a garden
Certainly NOT religion or politics
and I think my Instant Pot and what I cook in it falls into this category now too.

It dawned on me recently that maybe she resents my happiness.

Some people are like that unfortunately. Best thing to do is treat them with kindness but limit the time you spend with them
