broody hen and eggs

i have a broody hen sitting on a doz eggs -that may , or maynot be fertile--i'am hopeing at least a couple are----last nite when i showed one of my son-in-laws my broody hen and eggs--he asked----"what if none are fertile "---i just looked at him--the thought of absolutely none did not occur to me---if after the 21 to 23 days sitting , and nothing hatches---what if -- i buy a couple of day old chicks from one of the feed stores and put them under her---do you think she would accept them or reject them---this is just a what if , just in case all eggs are duds

It's worth a try. Best to swap out her dud eggs for chicks at night. A good broody will accept them. You will need to be on hand to make sure she does.
