Hello,
About 4 days ago I put my silkie cockerel and silkie hen in the run together for a few hours hoping they would breed. I didn't stay and watch them as I needed to go out so I am unsure whether the eggs she has laid are fertile.
The next day, she became broody. Does this mean her eggs are fertile?
By the way my silkie hen has been broody 2 times before and has successfully hatched chicks both times.
Thank you for reading, please reply and help me!! x

This is Lady Gaga the silkie hen, sat on her nest.

This is Stanley, the silkie cockerel.

Broodiness has nothing to do with whether or not the eggs are fertile. If they were only together a few hours and she started brooding the very next day then I would say there is no chance the eggs she is sitting on are fertile. However if she was with a rooster at any other time in the past three weeks, then there is a much better chance she is sitting on fertile eggs now.
