Broody hen and one that just hatched chicks

Put mamma and chicks in with the flock. People tend to want to wait until the chicks get bigger, but it really works better to put them in when the chicks are dried off and active, a week or two old. The mamma will take good care of them.

I would also be Leary of moving the new broody hen, but I would watch carefully, and when she has hatched, you might put them in the broody camp for a few days.

Thank you to everyone replied. It was all very great advice.

We have been letting momma buff and her 2 chicks free range during the day with the rest of the flock. They stay close to the porch under tree cover.

Today momma bard rock hatched her first chick. So we decided to move momma buff and her chicks into the main coop and transfered momma bard rock and her clutch to the brood coop.

The timing could not have worked out better. Thank you again for all the good advice!

Here is a picture of momma bard rock and her chick. So darn cute!

I would like to put her in the chicken tractor with the other momma and babies but I am not sure if that is advisable.
Don't do it. It isn't worth the risk. My mums have not appreciated other mums and their chicks. They fought.
I would do as Mrs. K suggests and get mum and chicks in with the full group.

I will also mention that we wrapped the lower part of the entire main coop run with chicken wire to make it more secure for baby chicks.
