Here my common loon for spotted!

Also I learned yesterday, via flipping through my field guide, that they are not closely related to ducks, because for some reason i thought that they were?! Anyway they are super cool birds and I have seen them once in the wild before (albeit in winter/migrating plumage)!

Wow these are beautiful!! I love the colors on the dove. What medium did you use? Colored pencil?

Edited to add: I love your pfp! It reminds me of my French Cuckoo Marans rooster

He is a Pekin bantam rooster, I wish I had French marans! Love the dark chocolate eggs

I did this last night, but I'm posting late.

Spotted - Day 5

I did a Northern Spotted Owl. I was looking through my bird book for a Towhee that might be spotted and found a Spotted Owl instead. Me and my best friend ended up both using the same reference image, which was cool. Here's mine:

He is a Pekin bantam rooster, I wish I had French marans! Love the dark chocolate eggs

They are wonderful chickens — both the hens and rooster, and the dark eggs are always so pretty!

He was actually a surprise roo, and I don’t like picking favorites, but is the best one that I’ve ever had; sweet, gentle, and very good at protecting his ladies.
Also let me say, I had to google Pekin bantams as I hadn’t heard of them before, and they are SO cute!! If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your roo’s name? (Mine is Newt)
