Crowing
Well, I went out today to clean the chicken coop and saw my 8-year-old Plymouth Rock hen sitting on my Jersey Giant Raven’s egg. My Plymouth Rock is 8 years old and stopped laying a couple of years ago. My younger sister went to grab the egg and got a nice pecking from the hen. We gave her 3 more eggs to see what would happen and sure enough, she put the eggs under her and sat. Can an 8-year-old hen be broody? I’m confused. Anyway, here are some pictures of the true parents and the broody hen.

Thank you!
