    Hello,
I was wondering if my broody is going to get up when the babies are hatching. If not will i know they are hatching before i see a chick running around. It is the day before expected hatch day of my first broody.

    thanks for the help,
    GiGI

I usually know because I see broken egg shells around her. I don't know if all of them do that, but mine seems to toss them away from under her.

The hen should not get up, but I have had it happen before.

You'll usually hear peeping, along with heads peeking out from under mom.

After 2 or 3 days they'll be out running around, and you'll need to offer food

    and water. Happy Hatching!
